UPDATE: Migration complete! 1and1 cancelled! Yay!!
I’ve been meaning to get all of my domains off of 1 and 1 forever. A few weeks ago, I was motivated and started the migration. Thankfully none of my domains are very busy, so it was an easy transition. Domain registration changes are much easier nowadays too, thank god. The old NetSol challenge-response system always seemed to be a pain in the ass. Dreamhost servers seem to be much faster too, and it’s really nice to finally have all of my domains under one roof for both registration and hosting.

nearlycomplete…”Did you do research on hosting? Any recommendations?
I’m on Yahoo smallbiz, but I saw 1 and 1, and other cheap hosting sites, and wonder what should I recommend to friends with light load requirements. Have you checked Laughing Squid?
I’m at Dreamhost now after multiple recommendations from different friends. It’s not the cheapest, but I feel like I have a lot of value for the money. Love the interface too. All the easy stuff like one-click installs for server apps, but full geek mode available too.
I have a lot of respect for the Laughing Squid guys too though. Honestly I haven’t looked into their hosting plans. I think I always thought they were a bit too pro to me.
