It's not having to go through as much data. similarly, system_profiler SPHardwareDataType | grep "Serial Number (system):" is handy too if you need to check the exact computers. I have a lot of respect for the Laughing Squid guys too though. Honestly I haven't looked into their hosting plans. I think I always thought they were a bit too pro to me.
