Nice one! I figured there was a more concise way to get the info, but went for easiest at the time. Thanks for the tip Chad!

Using the command : system_profiler SPHardwareDataType | grep "Model Identifier:"
gets you there much faster. It's not having to go through as much data.

similarly, system_profiler SPHardwareDataType | grep "Serial Number (system):" is handy too if you need to check the exact computers.

I'm at Dreamhost now after multiple recommendations from different friends. It's not the cheapest, but I feel like I have a lot of value for the money. Love the interface too. All the easy stuff like one-click installs for server apps, but full geek mode available too.

I have a lot of respect for the Laughing Squid guys too though. Honestly I haven't looked into their hosting plans. I think I always thought they were a bit too pro to me.

Did you do research on hosting? Any recommendations?
I'm on Yahoo smallbiz, but I saw 1 and 1, and other cheap hosting sites, and wonder what should I recommend to friends with light load requirements. Have you checked Laughing Squid?

Earthmine conduct a streetview effort by themselves. They are not related to Google in anyway. They make streetview capture as well as 3D data capture based on stereo-vision.

By the way, their website has been put up by now.
